3 Signs It’s Time for a New Hardware Supplier

Are you happy with your current hardware supplier? Maybe you’ve invested a lot of time and funds into this relationship, so you’re hesitant to make a switch?

This guide will help you determine whether it’s time for a new supplier using three signs.

They don’t understand your challenges

A good supplier should do more than just sell you pieces of kit. They should thoroughly understand how their hardware will be used in your product, how your product works and its purpose. They should also be aware of the wider challenges faced by your business and your industry- be it scalability, compliance or budget.

With this insight, the solutions they provide will be better tailored to your business’ unique needs. Without it, you risk being sold generic equipment which doesn’t fulfil your requirements.

They’re reactive, not proactive

Whilst your supplier should be equipped to deal with any concerns as they crop up, it’s even more important that they’re prepared for potential changes or issues in the future. If they aren’t able to preempt supply issues and fluctuating prices, for example, you risk facing financial and productivity issues which are out of your control.

They leave you with more questions than answers

When you have queries about your hardware, your supplier should answer them quickly, and with a high level of technical expertise. If they leave you with more questions than answers, or they don’t get back to you at all, it’s probably time to switch to a more responsive and expert IT partner.

Ideally, your supplier should have a thorough understanding of your business, its needs and its challenges. It should also know about your customers and what they require from your product. They should be prepared for potential future problems, to protect your productivity and finances. Finally, they should be on hand to answer all your questions promptly and be informed by technical knowledge.

If you’re looking for a higher level of support from your supplier, it’s probably time for a change.
